The Coded summit Robotics team has been a teton high school staple for over 10 years. Students who participate in the program learn how to design, build, and program robotics focused projects.

Each January, robotics competition organization, FIRST Robotics, announces a new competition with a unique challenge. After the announcement, the Coded Summit team immediately dives into designing, building, and testing a robot to tackle that challenge so they can participate in the regional competitions.

The Coded Summit team has three (3) main components:

  • The Build Team. These students design, machine, and assemble the components of the robot.

  • The Programmers. These students program the robot to complete the challenges, including a full automation challenge for bonus points.

  • The Drivers. These students pilot the robot to score points in the competitions.

These teams work together during the challenge to build and drive a robot that can score as many points as possible in each round of the competition. The competition is always fast and fun, with dozens of team from around the region competing head to head in alliance based matches.

In 2023, the Coded Summit team and their Alliance won the Boise regional competition and traveled to Texas to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championship competition!
